Week 8

 Class videos:

Relaxation walk update:

5 minute sit/stay

3 minute down/stay

This is literally where Koda was the entire relaxation walk. Our schedule hasn't let us try again, but tomorrow I am going to only use the 40 foot check cord and have Jürgen carry the leash. I don't think Koda needs the extra 20 feet.

Today in the less than thirty minutes between cross country practice and drama practice we did the 100 yard walk-away stay. I wanted to quickly knock it out at the high school football field, but the football team was using it already (the nerve!). So we drove over to the middle school field- Graydon had already checked that it was large enough on google earth- and there was a lady with an off-leash dog. 😡

We didn't have time to find a third location, so I made a noose with our biothane check cord and we went for it. The dog approached us twice and wasn't ill-tempered but Koda was losing his mind. Once they started walking away I worked him a little to get him back in the zone and had Jürgen go for it.

Pretty impressive, eh?

We got out of there fast after we were done-- not just because Jürgen had practice. 😊

Finishing up Week 7 (Hopefully)

Week 7 Update

 Class with Roxanne:

Practice 9/29:

Practice 9/30:

Very impressed with what they accomplished on Tuesday. Yesterday was too high distraction; rougher day. Today they will be working without me wherever the cats aren't. Tomorrow we will try to make it to practice inside Alvey's.

We officially made it to October!
